As much as Americans have been complaining about the dearth of eco-friendly wind power production, this result, reported in the Economist online shows that the US is second largest installed market after Germany. I have seen the turbines in both these markets. On our trip to Germany last November, I certainly saw many large towers and turbines on the Germany-Netherlands frontier.
Our family excursions to west Texas in the late 1990s gave us a chance to experience the windiest place in Texas (Guadalupe Peak) where there are forests of turbines on the desert ridges.
Earlier this year, the Economist did a special report on how wind power can fill in gaps in other production grids.
