My latest venture, Digital Hermosa, is earning traction in the market. We’ve developed and released both our first and our second iPad apps in the past week.
The second app, DR_M The Drummer’s Metronome is designed for the Apple iPhone/iPod/iPhone and incorporates several features designed for drummers and drumming students. Mechanical metronomes go to the user-defined frequency, tick, tock, tick tock. The problem that drummer’s have is hearing a tick and tock is not so easily done once they start hitting snares, base, toms and cymbals. Drummers need a visual metronome, which is exactly what DR_M is – a visual metronome.
Users choose the number of beats in a bar (1, 2, 3 or 4) and then choose the frequency rate in beats per minute (40-208). Tap to go; tap to stop. The app flashes a white screen for ~1/10th of a second at the frequency set when beats per bar is set to 1. For beats in bar set to 2, it flashes a black 1 on a white background for 1/10th of a second and then a 2 for 1/10th of a second. It sequences a 1, 2 and 3 for 3 beats in a bar and of course, repeats a 1,2,3 and 4 sequence for 4 beats per bar.
Priced inexpensively at $0.99, the app is exclusively available for download on the Apple App Store.
