Microsoft shows walled garden thinking in its decision to forbid voip applications in its new mobile app store. The company is stuck in laggard mode and this decision further relegates their platform to the back of the bus, and maybe even off the bus for many users, developers and enterprises. It is disappointing in this design because it’s been that way for a decade, but in the face of Apple iPhone support for Skype (or is that the other way around?) it’s particularly disappointing.
Wake up Microsoft. Stop being the lagging monolith and start being the innovator and consumer advocate that you (used to) claim to be.
