In the case of integrating SIP applications, TANDBERG shows up very strongly. Fresh from its participation in Lotusphere in January, TANDBERG at Voicecon came out strongly with the Microsoft Office Communicator and TANDBERG HD endpoint integration as an integral element of Microsoft VP Gurdeep Singh Pall's keynote and then a second time within the same keynote to deliver a commitment for a $300 HD camera for the desktop.
The company also licensed the Microsoft RT video codec.
Microsoft RT video codec is optimized for the Windows OS and introduces proprietary codecs in both the Microsoft client technologies and server platforms, with forward error correction capabilities that according to Psytechnics' report, delivers a higher quality audio experience even in low bandwidth conditions. Now, TANDBERG and other vendors, enable the high quality video and audio streaming end-to-end.
And, TANDBERG announced their strategic relationship with Nortel Global Services. Nortel's Telepresence services offering incorporates support for both TANDBERG and Polycom endpoints and a sophisticated enterprise end-to-end service incorporating audio conferencing, web conferencing and HD video and telepresence services. TANDBERG and Nortel have been working together since at least 2006 when the MCS 5100's SIP infrastructure and TANDBERG SIP-capable video endpoints were first integrated.
