Fifth of industry reports on audio, web, video conferencing shows users in education sector meet face-to-face most often
Northborough, MA November 13, 2007 – Brockmann & Company released its latest independent, self-funded report on the role of face-to-face meetings and audio, web and video conferencing in the conduct of business in the education sector. The report, entitled "Conferencing in The Education Sector" is available for a limited time for free download on http://www.brockmann.com.
Peter Brockmann, President and Research Director of Brockmann & Company said, "Only 53% of respondents consider conferencing very important to the success of their company. Despite the promise of distance learning, the power of these technologies do not translate well into the broader industry because users are geographically tied to the scope of their enterprise. Collaborations in education tend to concentrate locally and not regionally or nationally."
In particular, audio conferencing and desktop video conferencing was expected to grow more frequently and in longer sessions in the coming year.
This report is the fifth in a series on the practices and insights within various industry groupings.
